       After a long period of deliberation and preparation, the Guangdong provincial higher people's court officially issued the trial guidelines on civil dispute cases concerning online game intellectual property rights (trial) (hereinafter referred to as the trial guidelines) on April 14, 2020.

       The "trial guidelines" of 40 clauses, covers the guiding principles of network game class cases, act preservation, copyright, trademark and unfair competition disputes, five main aspects, such as civil liability for the current network game cases before the court of act preservation in the process of requirement, the network game works of qualitative, games, pictures and games live coverage of such difficult problems as legal attribute in the response, also in the existing legal framework for related issues involved in the network game has carried on the further elaboration and clear.

       As the first local judicial norm in China to summarize the experience of online game intellectual property trial, the trial guidelines reflect the trend of Guangdong courts in the online game industry judicial protection, and also provide important guidance for courts at all levels in Guangdong province to try online game intellectual property cases.
