We are pleased to announce the successful culmination of the 2023 AIPPI World Intellectual Property Congress, which took place in Istanbul, Turkey, from October 22nd to 25th. This four-day congress comprised a series of significant events, including committee meetings, executive committee sessions, an opening ceremony, plenary sessions, special forums, a women's symposium, cultural exhibitions, and a closing celebration. Official figures from AIPPI confirm the participation of over 2,000 delegates hailing from 69 different countries.

The opening ceremony featured an address of gratitude by AIPPI President Shoichi Okuyama. Dr. Muhammed Zeki Durak, Director-General of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, extended a warm welcome to the attendees, and Habip Asan, Director of the Transition and Developed Countries Sector at WIPO, delivered a keynote speech. The opening festivities were followed by a captivating display of Turkish cultural performances.

On the afternoon of the 23rd, CHISPO’s Managing Partner, Maggie Mi, representing CHISPO, played an active role in the Plenary Session for Proving Trademark Use as a member of AIPPI's Standing Committee on Trademarks. She contributed to the discussions and participated in voting on resolutions.

CHISPO has been a dedicated participant in the AIPPI World Intellectual Property Congress for numerous years. During this congress, the CHISPO team had the privilege of reuniting with colleagues and friends from around the world, engaging in meaningful discussions, and exploring the latest developments and trends in the realm of intellectual property. Over the course of four days, CHISPO organized nearly 100 meetings, engaging in profound dialogues with fellow IP professionals from various corners of the globe. The team also established valuable connections with both new and existing partners, laying the groundwork for future collaborations.

Anticipating the 2024 AIPPI World Intellectual Property Congress to be hosted in Hangzhou, China, the closing ceremony on the evening of October 25th included a formal handover ceremony, signifying the transition of the AIPPI World Intellectual Property Congress to "Hangzhou time." With the successful conclusion of the 2023 AIPPI Congress in Turkey, CHISPO eagerly looks forward to the opportunity to reunite with its global network of friends and associates in the picturesque city of Hangzhou next year.
