Update on the State Council's proposal to review its reform plan to improve the intellectual property management system.

In order to accelerate the construction of a powerful national intellectual property system, comprehensively improve the level of intellectual property creation, application, protection, management and service, China decided to place the China National Intellectual Property Administration (previously under the National Office managed by the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration) under the direct supervision of the State Council. Law enforcement responsibilities related to trademarks, patents and other fields will remain under the Market Supervision comprehensive law enforcement team which will receive professional guidance from the China National Intellectual Property Administration for relevant law enforcement work.
