For the first time in its 127-year history, the AIPPI World Congress 2024 will be held in China. The event will take place in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, from October 19th to the 22nd. Details on the event were announced on Thursday, at a special press conference, hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

According to officials, the conference, themed "Balanced Protection of Intellectual Property and Innovative Development," is expected to welcome over 2,000 delegates from 92 countries and regions, a record high for the event. The gathering emphasizes professionalism and diversity, featuring over 30 seminars and forums. A key highlight is the presence of Chinese elements, showcasing the country's latest advancements and historic achievements in IP examination and protection.

YU JIANLONG Vice Chairman, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) "We will focus on discussing four key draft resolutions on intellectual property, covering patents, trademarks, copyrights, and rights enforcement. Once fully debated and voted on, these resolutions will be one of the core outcomes of the conference. This event marks a milestone in China's intellectual property development and a new starting point for China's deeper involvement in global IP governance. It will greatly enhance cooperation between China and the international IP community, strengthening China's voice and influence while contributing Chinese wisdom and solutions to global IP governance."
