According to the provisions of Articles 39 and 40 of the Patent Law of the People's Republic of China, the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) decided to amend the patent certificate. The relevant matters are hereby announced as follows:

For patents whose authorization announcement date is on or after June 1, 2024, the CNIPA will issue new versions of patent certificates. The new versions follow A4 vertical layout and optimizes and adjusts the layout of bibliography data.

Both the old and new versions have equal legal effect. CNIPA does not provide the service of replacing the new version of the certificates. For those who request to change or correct the patent certificate according to Section 1.2, Chapter 9, Part V of the GUIDELINES FOR PATENT EXAMINATION, the CNIPA will issue a new version of the patent certificate on and after June 1, 2024.

The detailed key changes are hereby for your information:

a. The new certificates will move the information of the applicant, inventor/designer on the patent application date from the back page to the front page of the certificate;

b. The information indicated in the certificates are rearranged;

c. The information about the duration of the patent right and the due date of annual fee payment has been canceled;

d. The certificates are combined into one page;

b. The new versions will remove the Stamp Duty;

c. The new versions have added an explanation below the QR code, that is "Patent Announcement Information".
